Penrith, the home to our beloved restaurant, is located about 50km outside of the Sydney CBD and offers an array of fun-packed experiences. We love sharing all of our favourites with you, so we’ve put together this blog for those who are visiting or those who want to explore more of Sydney’s Western Suburbs.

Museum of Fire
At the Museum of Fire, ambitious Junior Firefighters are welcome to participate in a day of adventure and discovery with fire safety activities, computer games, puzzles, and dress-ups every day.
If you have kids, The Museum of Fire is definitely a place you should check out. This Firefighting museum is packed with adventures and you can either get there by train or by car. The Museum of Fire was formerly a power plant station built for the burgeoning homes of western suburbs in the early 1950s.
The Rock Lookout
If you’re up for a hike, The Rock Lookout is a must-see location while you are in Penrith. It’s situated within the Mulgoa Valley and Blue Mountains National Park. To get there, it’s recommended you have a 4WD as it’s a dirt track.
This lookout has views like no other that captures height, rock, water and nature. You need to walk for around 15 minutes from the car park to reach the spot, but once you’re there it will all be worth it. Don’t forget to snap the amazing view, and who knows, maybe you will even get a new display picture for the gram!
Whitewater Stadium
The sun is finally out so what better time is there for outdoor activities?!
The Penrith Whitewater Stadium is anything but ordinary. Play, paddle, and row as if you’re competing in a race here. It’s situated at the foot of the iconic Blue Mountains.
This attraction is open to everyone including children, and it’s ideal if you want to do something daring in your life. Swift-water rescue training, white water rafting, and whitewater kayaking are only a few of the activities available. So, choose whichever challenge you prefer to participate in and have the time of your life!
Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural & Education Centre
Head to Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural and Education Centre and immerse yourself in Darug culture. The centre is also home to an Aboriginal cultural museum that discusses the Aboriginal history. This is a beautiful place to visit and learn from for a family visit.
Muru Mittigar seeks to create a better understanding of Aboriginal culture in the wider community, create new jobs, develop workplace skills training and increase sustained employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians.
