The festive season is my absolute favourite time of year for many reasons. Italians actually celebrate Nalate (what we call Christmas) for a whole month, starting with the Feast Day of the Imaaculate Conception on December 8th and concluding on January 6th, the 12th day of Christmas, known as the Epiphany. As a child in Italy, it was such a special time to enjoy the company of family and friends, decorating our home, and of course indulging in the glorius food. 

It’s been a privilege to bring the Italian Chirstmas to Australia, where we can combine these traditiona with the wonderful summer weather. As part of this, I’m celebrating at Italian Street Kitchen with my Summer Spritz cocktails. These delicious Italian drinks was a great excuse to get together with friends, family and loved ones to relish the festive season in the warmer weather – particularly with our carafes which are made to share! Starting on December 5th, i have four fantastic varieties to choose from, so make sure you come and share a summer spritz with me!

Christmas Functions at Italian Street Kitchen

Whether you’re throwing an office Christmas party, having an intimate meal with family and friends, or anything in between, I’m here to ensure everyone gets a taste of the festive spirit – of course, with our unique Italian flavour. I know that organising Christmas functions can be a little daunting, so I’ll be making everything easy for you. I have a range of Christmas function menu options designed to cater for groups of any size, budget, and dietary requirements. We’d love to have you for a joyous dining experience with authentic Italian cuisine, exceptional service, and flexible open-plan seating surrounded by our breathtaking interiors.

Christmas Eve in Italy

One of our oldest traditions in Italy is to not eat meat on Christmas Eve. Fortunately, we have a delightful range of seafood and pasta dishes to ensure that no one goes hungry the day before Christmas. While you’re more than welcome to enjoy the meat dishes at my restaurant, I have a number of sumptuous meat-free meals available if you’d like to feast on Christmas Eve like a true Italian. In particular, I’d encourage you to try our two special ‘Fatto in Casa Filled’ dishes, which are only available for a limited time.

Crab Ravioli: Fresh pasta filled with sweet crab and mascarpone, cooked in a shellfish and tomato sauce, topped with blue swimmer crab meat, basil and lemon. You can try this wonderfully unique dish for $37.

Spinach Cannelloni: Fresh pasta filled with fresh ricotta and baby spinach, baked in tomato passata and bechamel sauce. This delightful classic is only $27.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always looked forward to Christmas. It takes me back to all my amazing memories as a child in Italy and makes me realise I’ve never outgrown the pure joy of the festive season. While I’ve now traded the gorgeous Christmas snow for the beautiful sun in Australia, what’s clearly the most important is sharing this time of year with the people I love most; especially when it involves scrumptious food and drinks. I would love to share the Christmas spirit with you at my restaurant, but most of all, I hope you can enjoy this time with your loved ones as much as I do.
